The Sofia Regional Prosecutor's Office remains without a titular head. None of the members of the Prosecutor's College supported the only candidate for the position - Pernik District Prosecutor Stiliyana Georgieva.
The election came about after Nevena Zartova resigned as district prosecutor last February - due to suspicions of connections with the executed Martin Bozanov - Notary. Since then, the temporary head of the Sofia Regional Prosecutor's Office has been Supreme Prosecutor Svetlana Mitova.
Before the vote of the judicial personnel officers, Stiliyana Georgieva returned to the events of last year.
"I am here before you because I have the courage, strength and will to work solely and exclusively in the interest of society to prevent negative trends or minimize them. "The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office needs a leader who is not burdened by the previous leadership, who has had nothing to do with this body so far, who knows how to achieve its goals with honesty and frankness, as well as dedication. The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office needs a leader who has a broad worldview, who is able to unite and motivate," commented Georgieva.
The lack of administrative experience and her general concept were among the reasons why the members of the Prosecutor's College rejected her candidacy.
