„The current president not only divides, but also instils fear in people. Yes, there are countries that have ceremonial presidents, we don't need one. But it is unacceptable for a person who embodies the state to instill fear. We need a president with a position, and he must be normal, we haven't had one for many years.“ This was commented on bTV by Prof. Amelia Licheva, Dean of the Faculty of Slavic Philology at Sofia University.

According to political scientist Prof. Svetoslav Malinov, the head of state is heavily involved in the division of the nation.

„We need an anti-Radev person, not only in terms of conviction, but also in terms of behavior, we don't have a president in the sense of the constitution as a unifier of the nation. "This is a person who is currently participating in strengthening the division, he is like the president of a part of Bulgarian citizens who are against European integration," he said.
