“The new water supply system in Shumen has Act 15 and is in a testing period, so there is absolutely no problem at the moment. This is a complex hydrotechnical battle and we are currently making the appropriate adjustments. In the future, such accidents will not happen“, explained to bTV Atanas Boyadzhiev, member of the Board of Directors of “Bulgarian Water Supply and Sewerage Holding“ EAD.
He also added where the problem is.
“The route is over 10 km long and there is an accident on one of the welds. There is an organization to repair it as early as Sunday. However, in order to stop the water, we notified the citizens so that they could prepare for this, we cannot stop it immediately“, Boyadzhiev also said.
He also said that the water that is supplied is of good quality and constant checks are carried out.
The residents of Shumen and several other settlements will be left without water for the next 24 hours. All this is happening after a new water supply system was built for tens of millions of leva, and the residents of the city were reassured that there will be no more accidents.
