The next president must be a person who protects the Bulgarian national interest, with pro-European and democratic understandings for the future of the country. This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by Prof. Vili Lilkov, Deputy Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, Co-Chairman of the "Blue Bulgaria" coalition.
"What President Rumen Radev has been doing in recent years has created serious risks for the unity of the Bulgarian nation and the security of the Bulgarian state.
The realization that it is necessary to elect a pro-European president who will deepen Bulgaria's integration into the EU and NATO, who does not resemble Rumen Radev, requires us to analyze what we need to do to avoid making the mistakes that led to the election of a president with such a profile."
It is important to start looking for support from allies, said Prof. Lilkov in the program "Something More".
"No party can do it alone, not even two or three parties can achieve success in the presidential elections. Everyone will lose if a single candidacy is not achieved. Narrow party calculations must be abandoned".
Villi Lilkov also commented on the prepared votes of no confidence in the government.
"The topic of water scarcity is not at all unimportant, for justice - too. The topic of the conquered state - we have been observing for years that the various institutions in the state are actually conquered by certain oligarchic circles, the behavior of the Supreme Judicial Council, the matters related to the election of the Prosecutor General. All this gives the opposition reason to raise the issue of a vote of no confidence".
Lilkov defined Ahmed Dogan's attempted political comeback as "a return through capitulation".
"Ahmed Dogan waved the white flag in front of Peevski. This is happening right now. He officially recognizes his capitulation and the lost battle for the MRF.
A battle will break out with much greater force for the structures. It will be very difficult, because the resistance of people who have entrenched themselves in power and are currently gravitating towards Delyan Peevski will be very strong".
Politicians should act less like investigators and judges, advised Prof. Lilkov, referring to the case in which Senior Commissioner Nikolay Kozhuharov, Head of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ruse, was injured.
"Violence very spontaneously and easily breaks out on the streets of Bulgaria, and politicians who inflame this mood with their own behavior are largely to blame.
"Different political parties are involved in the "Kozhuharov" case with one sole goal - not to understand the truth and obtain fair retribution for the guilty and calm the society, attempts are being made to turn this scandal, which has more of a domestic character, into a political one and to extract dividends from it.
The Ministry of Interior itself was not very convincing in the way it informed the society".
The Sofia Municipal Council must start talking to the state about all problematic properties that are on the territory of the Sofia Municipality, Lilkov also commented.
"We do not have enough land for building kindergartens. We requested that the state provide properties free of charge".
