Details about the revived Opel Frontera - 1

Opel unveiled the new Frontera in Rüsselsheim just a few days after the first pictures leaked. While detailed specifications have yet to be released, Opel CEO Florian Hütl emphasizes the car's combination of solid design, spaciousness, smart features and efficient drivetrain, which positions it as an ideal choice for urban and suburban environments.

Visually different from its predecessor, the new Opel Frontera presents a stronger interpretation of the brand's design language. The upright front end and ample cabin space are evident in the first images. The black Vizor, which houses the ECO LED headlights and Opel's signature flash, dominates the front, complemented by the trapezoidal radiator opening. Prominent wheel arches and sills further enhance the solid appearance.

Inside, the emphasis is on smart design and practicality. The Pure Panel cockpit with two 10-inch displays and a multimedia infotainment system takes center stage, accompanied by a redesigned steering wheel. For those who prefer their own mobile devices, a smartphone station is now available, albeit as optional equipment. Charging options include a charging cradle and four USB ports.

The interior features innovative solutions for comfort and convenience. The Intelli Seat feature, with a special recess in the driver and front passenger seats, provides relaxed driving comfort, especially on long journeys. Ample storage options, including smartphone pockets and open compartments with rubber surfaces, meet everyday needs. With the rear seats up, over 460 liters of luggage space are available, which increases to 1,600 liters with the seats folded down (optional 60:40 split). A standard second cargo floor adds practicality, and the optional roof rail can take up to 200kg of roof cargo.

Powertrain options include an all-electric variant and motors with 48-volt hybrid technology, although specific details are pending. Drawing on experience from the Citroen e-C3 and Opel Corsa with 48-volt drives, expectations include an electric motor with 113 hp. and a range of about 320 km, together with gasoline engines with a power of 101 or 136 hp.
