The new Toyota Camry 2024 has already entered the market in a number of countries, but is now available exclusively in four-cylinder versions. This, as it turns out, does not suit the supporters of the model from the USA - they insist on the return of the 3.5-liter V6 engine. This is reported by the website CarBuzz .
Not only that, Americans registered a petition demanding the release of the ninth generation Toyota Camry 3.5. After the votes are collected, it is scheduled to be sent to the Toyota plant in Kentucky, where the Camry is manufactured. The authors of the petition hope that at least after the update a V6 motor will appear in the range.
We will remind you that in the key markets (North America, EU) the new Toyota Camry will be available only in a hybrid version with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. The power of this hybrid powertrain is 228 horsepower with front-wheel drive and 235 horsepower with 4x4.
In some other countries, such as China, the 2024 Toyota Camry is also available with a 177 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. But the Japanese automaker has decided to phase out the 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower that was installed on a number of models - it is no longer available for the Toyota Highlander. However, the appearance of a more powerful hybrid with 340 horsepower with a Toyota Crown powertrain is possible.
