Audi is already actively testing the upcoming 2026 A7 Avant and Carscoops used spy shots of the camouflaged car to create high-quality images without camouflage.
The A7 range is expected to be based on an updated version of the MLB platform known as Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). This means that the car is likely to be larger than its predecessor.
For comparison, the current A6 station wagon is 4,939 mm long, 1,886 mm wide and 1,467 mm tall, which definitely suggests that the innovation will be over five meters long, wider and with more large wheelbase.
The current dual-screen MMI system will change to a single curved panel that combines an OLED instrument panel and an infotainment touchscreen. In other words, the dashboard will resemble that of the new Q6 e-tron.
The innovation will include an additional screen for the front passenger, as well as many driver assistance systems. As for the engine range of the A7, it will offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid drives.
All this is done in order to meet increasingly stringent emission standards and increasing customer demands for fuel efficiency. The PHEV model is expected to use a 14.4kWh lithium-ion battery.
The latter provides an electric range of approximately 100 kilometers. The car will debut early next year and will compete (in sedan and wagon versions) with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
