According to the latest data, bulgarians are starting to buy more brand new cars - 1

Judging by the statistics of the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers ACEA , before the first six months of this year, 23,048 brand new passenger cars were registered in our country. The calculations on this basis indicate that this is a growth of 30.8 percent compared to the period January - June 2023.

From the new registrations of passenger cars in Bulgaria in the first six months of 2024, it seems that the preponderance in terms of drive type is definitely in favor of gasoline cars.

A total of 16,450 gasoline cars were sold for the six-month period under review. The second place in terms of sales of new cars in our country goes to diesel cars, which are 5,012. Electric cars and hybrids are far behind.

It is interesting, however, that in third place are purely electric cars, of which 871 units were registered in our country in the first six months of the year. 467 are the regular hybrids and 247 are the plug-in hybrid cars.

In June 2024, car registrations in the EU increased by 4.3 percent, driven mainly by three of Europe's four main markets: Italy (+15.1 percent), Germany (+6.1 percent ) and Spain (+2.2 percent).

In contrast, France saw a drop of 4.8 percent last month. As for the six-month period since the beginning of the year, in the first half of 2024 new car registrations increased by 4.5 percent.

Registration volumes in Europe as a whole, however, remain relatively low (-18 percent) compared to pre-pandemic levels. All the biggest EU markets saw a jump, but modestly. Spain (+5.9 percent), Germany (+5.4 percent), Italy (+5.4 percent) and France (+2.8 percent) recorded growth. our country is in one of the leading places in terms of this indicator, say ACEA.
