Ford backs off with electric cars in Europe - 1

Ford strongly believed in the success of its plans to fully electrify the model range, but now it has become known that the company has changed its intentions to advertise electric cars as too ambitious.

In an interview with Autocar, Marin Guillaume, chief operating officer of Ford's Model E electrification division, said the automaker has revised its plans to electrify its own lineup.

„I think the customers voted and told us it was too ambitious. We think that the transition to all-electric EVs by 2030 in Europe will not be a good choice for our business and especially for our customers, “ said Giyaya.

Previously, Ford management made loud statements that the model range of the brand in Europe will become fully electric by 2030. The company is now expected to slightly slow the pace of electric vehicle offerings amid declining customer demand.

Interestingly, in May, Ford's general manager for Europe, Martin Sander, told Automotive News that internal combustion engines could continue to be offered in Europe even after 2030 in case of high demand among buyers. At the same time, the company did not make a statement about the fate of its electric cars in the United States.
