Brand new Mercedes-Benz cars, made in Russia, went on sale on sale. The resource auto.ru drew attention to ads offering to buy cars from the German brand - sedan E-Class (W213) and second generation crossover GLC. They are unusual in that they were produced at a plant in the Moscow region that is no longer owned by Mercedes-Benz. According to the portal, the cars were assembled from vehicle kits that were received by the new owner together with the enterprise.
At the moment, according to the ads, the cars are sold, but yesterday they could be bought at a price of 9.68 million rubles (91,300 euros). Both the E-Class and GLC in question are equipped with an all-wheel drive system and two-liter engines. Sedans have a 197-horsepower gasoline engine, and crossovers are also available with a 194-horsepower diesel engine. The gearbox is a nine-speed automatic.
Various merchants posted such ads. One of the car dealerships explained to the journalists that these Mercedes are covered by a warranty for a period of two years or 100 thousand kilometers. According to the sellers, the car kits left at the former plant in Esopovo were enough for the production of about fifty cars. Otherwise, the production of German cars in Russia has been permanently stopped.
The automobile plant in the Moscow region was built and put into operation in 2019 - this project cost Mercedes-Benz 19 billion rubles, including the cost of training employees. And in the spring of 2022, after the start of the war, the German company stopped work at the enterprise and put business in Russia on hold. Later, Mercedes-Benz completely got rid of Russian assets, including the plant in Esipovo, and the Avtodom dealer holding became its new owner.
