An abandoned 1997 Porsche 911 tuned by Gemballa was found in the UAE. The extremely rare sports car is sitting outdoors on a street on the outskirts of Dubai.
The sporty Porsche is covered in a layer of dust, sand and dirt, but experts say its condition is quite good. The car has been abandoned for a relatively short time.
The Gemballa Extremo Bi-Turbo (that's the name of the car) is a real rarity, because only two such convertibles were produced. The project was developed on behalf of the tire manufacturer Fulda to advertise the new Extremo tire model.
It was Fulda that brought the first Porsche 911 Gemballa to Dubai for promotion, where the car was immediately noticed by Sheikh Abdul Mohsin from Saudi Arabia. He liked the sports car and tried to buy it, but was refused. Then the sheikh ordered exactly the same car, but yellow, not black.
It is known that this particular Gemballa Extremo Bi-Turbo was sold at auction for €379,500 in February 2023 and was then in excellent condition with only 18,400 km on the odometer. Apparently, the car was abandoned later.
The Porsche 911 Gemballa Extremo Bi-Turbo is equipped with a 3.6-liter turbocharged flat-six engine that develops 600 horsepower. Its top speed exceeds 300 km/h.
The sports car differs from the standard Porsche 911 convertible in its bodywork, flared fenders, BBS wheels and original xenon headlights. It also has a removable carbon roof. Sports leather seats with electric drive are installed in the salon.
