The sixth generation of the Renault Clio is already a fact, and the model continues its evolution, which began 35 years ago. What impressed us first is that with its new design solutions and technological improvements, the French hatchback is positioned in the segment of city cars with claims to a higher class. The new model is distinguished by both a recognizable and completely renewed style.
Throughout its history, Clio has been one of Renault's best-selling models, with nearly 17 million units sold worldwide. And now the model continues to establish itself as a benchmark in its segment, as we have already informed you, for the first half of 2025 it became the best-selling car in Europe. This success is due to the constant improvement of design, comfort, quality and safety. But here is more specifically what the new Renault Clio is.

Dynamic exterior and dimensions
In our opinion, the design of the sixth generation of Clio is definitely a step forward, combining style and functionality in one. The elongated hood and the increased wheelbase give the car a more dynamic silhouette, resembling an ultra-compact coupe. The updated front end features a large "diamond" grille and new daytime running lights.
The model's larger dimensions, combined with black wheel arches and optional 18-inch alloy wheels, create a more athletic and powerful visual presence on the road. The rear features a sharply raked glass and four sports car-inspired taillights. The model is available in seven colors, including two new shades: Absolute Red and Absolute Green.
The new Clio is built on the CMF-B platform, which has been refined to offer even better comfort and dynamic handling. With a length of 4.12 meters and a width of 1.77 meters, the model is larger than its predecessor. The wheelbase has grown to 2.59 meters, which contributes to a more spacious interior. Only the height of 1.45 meters remains almost unchanged.

Technical details and powertrains
The most significant novelty in the engine range is the E-Tech full hybrid powertrain, which has a system power of 160 hp. The unit was developed by Horse Powertrain. This system provides low CO2 emissions of 89 g/km and combined fuel consumption of only 3.9 l/100 km. The hybrid unit can run on electric power up to 80% of the time in urban and suburban driving, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.3 seconds.
The E-Tech full hybrid system includes a 1.8-liter four-cylinder internal combustion engine, two electric motors and an intelligent clutchless gearbox. The gearbox has two gears for the electric motor and four for the internal combustion engine, which, according to French specialists, allows up to 15 different combinations to optimize performance and efficiency.
In addition to the hybrid system, the new Clio also offers other options. The base version has a 1.2-liter three-cylinder TCe engine with 115 hp. This engine can be combined with a manual gearbox or a 6-speed EDC automatic with dual clutch. A 120 hp Eco-G dual-fuel unit is also planned, which uses gasoline and LPG.
Technologies and interior
Both the technical part and the interior of the new Clio have seen significant progress. The dashboard has a new design and materials, featuring a double V-shaped screen with an OpenR Link multimedia system. It includes built-in Google services, such as Google Maps and Google Assistant, which is a precedent in this segment.
As for passive safety, the new Clio features up to 29 driver assistance systems (ADAS), which puts the model on the border with the higher class. Among them are active driver assistance, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking assistant. The model is also equipped with a 360-degree camera, which greatly facilitates parking.
The trunk offers a capacity of up to 391 liters, and the height of the loading sill has been reduced by 40 mm, which facilitates access to it. As with all other new cars, recycled materials have been used in the development of the interior. In the Esprit Alpine equipment level, over 33.7% of the materials have a low environmental impact.
The new Renault Clio will be available in three equipment levels: Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine. Each level offers different features that upgrade comfort, safety and connectivity. And one more interesting thing. The model will be produced at the plant in Bursa, Turkey.

Higher-class extras, but the compact dimensions of a city hatchback
In conclusion, we will say that with its new technological improvements and powertrains, the new Renault Clio aims to offer functionality and efficiency typical of larger cars, while maintaining the compact dimensions of a city hatchback.
The model will be available for order in our country before the end of the year, and before that we will also do dynamic tests to tell you how we see it in motion. Now, after the static premiere of the new Clio in Munich, we can say that in our opinion the new Clio has every chance of maintaining its status as a European bestseller.
Finally, a very curious bonus: The optional Harman Kardon audio system provides five sound environments developed personally by Jean-Michel Jarre (Studio, Podcast, Concert, Immersion and Club), output through 10 tweeters with a total power of 410 watts.
