“If the health preventive card was issued before September 1, 2025, parents must present it. It does not need to be canceled“, explained the Minister of Health Dr. Silvi Kirilov on the air of “Wake up”.

After this date, however, medical specialists in kindergartens and schools will have digital access to the necessary health information stored in a centralized system. The minister emphasized that they will not see all personal data, but only the medical information relating to their responsibility.

“All specialists have been instructed on how to work with the system. This will reduce the administrative burden for parents and school doctors,“ he added.

Minister Kirilov announced that the chickenpox vaccine will become mandatory from 2026.

“The first dose will be administered between 12 and 15 months of age, and the second - at the age of 3&rdash;, he specified.

Its introduction is a serious step towards limiting the disease, the doctor emphasized.

The condition of the injured Commissioner Kozhuharov

The minister also commented on the incident in Ruse, in which Senior Commissioner Kozhuharov was severely beaten.

“He underwent a complex kidney operation, which is currently functioning. His condition is good and he continues to recover“, Kirilov announced.

The health fee remains unchanged for now

Regarding a possible increase in the fee for a general practitioner examination, Dr. Kirilov was categorical: “At this stage, especially in the transition to the euro, the fee should not change. There may be discussions until June 2026, but for now there will be no increase.“

He emphasized that children should not pay a fee for an examination – this will remain unchanged.

More laboratories and faster results

After numerous cases of false field tests, Minister Kirilov indicated that work is being done to increase the number of laboratories and speed up the processing of results.

“We propose that experts be able to testify online. All laboratories should work with the same methodology“, he added.

A vote of no confidence? “The government will survive“

At the end of the conversation, after the vote of no confidence was submitted by the opposition, Minister Kirilov commented:“I am convinced that the government will survive.
