Dozens of residents of Ognyanovo protested today in support of Mayor Ivan Izhbehov and demanded justice and an adequate investigation into the attack, bTV reported.
The people are adamant that they support the mayor in his attempts to stop the vicious practices of illegal mineral water drilling.
"Why is the whole village suffering all summer here for water, and people like Mr. Chetrafilov are drilling wells, taking away the mineral water from the village - there is not a drop of mineral water here! We insist on adequate measures against the abuser and we hope that we live in a democratic, not a scumbag state. We do not want such things to happen again and we want the residents of Ognyanovo to live peacefully, freely!", appealed Antidje Nizamova.
"People are worried and do not understand how it got to this point. Maybe Ivan also made some mistakes, no one is saying that he is sinless, but that is not how it is done! People are demanding justice, a businessman cannot behave so inadequately", claims Ivan Dunchev.
Ivan Izhbehov thanked for the support and promised the people that he would not give up, despite attempts, in his words, to achieve an out-of-court resolution of the conflict.
