It has been 68 days since our material on July 18, when we told you about the ignorance reorganization of traffic right in the triangle of power – between the Presidency, Parliament and the Council of Ministers. There has been a change for several days. There are reflective signs that still show who should move where.
What is it about
As we have already written, employees of the Sofia Municipality from the “small transport commission“ on "Budapest" Street some time ago submitted a project to change the traffic system to the Traffic Police right in the triangle of power - "Knyaz Dondukov" Blvd., "Nezavisimost" Square and "Knyaz Alexander the First" Blvd. In other words, right between the Presidency, the Council of Ministers and the new Parliament building.

With the said reorganization of traffic, a new lane is created for those traveling on “Dondukov“ Blvd., and ONE LANE is left for those traveling in the direction of “Dondukov“ Blvd., who make a left turn in front of the Council of Ministers.

The new marking is a double continuous line in the direction of “Dondukov“ Blvd., BUT NOTHING IS SEEABLE OF THE WHITE LINE ANYMORE, because it is as worn out as the old marking.
So drivers, out of habit, when driving in the direction of “Dondukov“ Blvd., change lanes at the traffic light, but in reality - according to the new marking, WHICH IS NOT VISIBLE BECAUSE IT HAS WORN OUT, they enter the oncoming traffic. And car-to-car collisions are regularly detected in this small section.

And all this is right in front of the eyes of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, from whom we heard 36 measures to deal with accidents on our roads and how the topic is a priority for the government.
And this carelessness related to the marking, which can kill us on the road - in front of the eyes of the Prime Minister, continued for 68 days. Nothing happened. There have been signs for a few.
What changed
So for 68 days (we just saw the signs a few days ago from FACTS) nothing - car-to-car, swearing, threats, “where are you driving…“, etc. (b.r. – this last one is from the first person, because I pass by there twice a day and I was experimenting to see if anyone was looking at the markings… Guess… Everyone drives according to their habits, and the other one is always a fool, a scoundrel, a wretch, etc.)
So 68 days of nothing, then someone told a worker to go put up signs. And the worker went. Now a worker will have to remove them when the time comes to paint the markings, which is still work. After all, work has to be done. And it's all so simple – two signs at night and a 100-meter marking is made. A continuous white line is painted.
And then we talk about road safety measures – for more than two months a double line cannot be painted in front of the prime minister…
