A large part of the problems we see here are inherited. There was a lack of political will, and now the state is ready to solve the problems that have accumulated for years. This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Water Board Atanas Zafirov from Breznik, quoted by "Focus".
He notes that it is not the time to look for blame or responsibility, but for a solution.
"The problems are also related to climate change, as well as the missed opportunity to solve the problems", emphasized Zafirov, adding that "people cannot wait, it is time for a positive solution".
"Breznik is one of the most affected by climate change, because the main thing here is the lack of water sources, but on the other hand, the Municipality of Breznik can also be an example in terms of how the funds under the Municipal Investment Program are used, because over 90% of the projects here are for replacing the water supply infrastructure, which is in critical condition," said the Regional Minister Ivan Ivanov.
He added that over 2.6 million leva will be invested in replacing the water supply network, emphasizing that this problem does not exist in the settlements around Breznik.
"The main problem is due to the level of the "Krasava" dam, which is the main water source of the municipality," said Ivanov, adding that there is also a saturation of manganese in the drinking water.
