„We observed a water element stronger than the disaster in 2023. The final data from the station in the village of Izgrev show 450 l/sq. m. of water, which flowed in just a few hours. All the ravines have been cleaned several times”.
This was commented on „This Saturday and Sunday“ by bTV Marin Kirov, mayor of the Tsarevo municipality.
„The main problem with the Cherna River is not cleaning. The river has been cleaned twice. The main problem here is the complete correction of the river from the mouth of the sea towards the village of Izgrev, in order to catch all these waters from Strandzha. The municipality has submitted this object to an interdepartmental commission, but there is no funding. Until a complete correction is made, this will be repeated. All bridge structures have withstood, but if no correction is made, they will collapse“.
According to him, the damage is about 50 million leva, with nearly 40 million leva already being submitted from the previous disaster – objects that were damaged, but are now completely compromised.
The day before the disaster, the fire department reinforced the on-duty teams.
„We were prepared, the on-duty teams were reinforced the day before, the headquarters was working. Yesterday at the end of the day we reported 14 calls, with the risky ones being fewer, at the very beginning. "Organizationally, I wouldn't say that we have any shortcomings, these are our capabilities," said the head of the Tsarevo fire department, Chief Inspector Kiril Kiryakov.
