Yordan Ivanov, PP-DB: We have huge concerns about the budget because the government is spending at an unprecedented pace - 1

The government has concluded that a Western and modern investor will come to "Lukoil". This happened with the decision of the National Security Agency and the Council of Ministers to approve the sale of the refinery. This is a real obstacle to real investors who can modernize "Lukoil".

This was stated in the program "From the Day" on BNT by the MP from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" and Deputy Chairman of DSB Yordan Ivanov, quoted by novini.bg. He commented on the decision adopted in second reading by the Energy Committee to sell assets of the Russian oil company "Lukoil" in Bulgaria only after a decision of the Council of Ministers and a positive opinion from the State Agency for National Security and Defense.

"The feeling remains that the government has some plan for the refinery, but they are not saying it, and Bulgarian citizens have the right to know. We insist on a modern and strategic investor from the top 10 in the world. The amendment for "Lukoil" is on the verge of being declared unconstitutional, because the State Agency for National Security and Defense is subordinate to the Council of Ministers, and now the Council of Ministers must take into account the opinion of an agency that is subordinate to it. This is complete absurdity. We shed light on what the government is doing. We want complete transparency for "Lukoil". When we agree with the president, we are allies. Regarding the government, we are in similar positions with him. However, when he wants a referendum on the euro, there is no way we can be allies and have the same opinion," he revealed.

"We have huge concerns about the budget, because the government is spending at an unprecedented pace. If things continue like this, there are two paths. The first is to enter a debt spiral. The second is to change taxes. We will categorically not support changes in the tax system. We have presented a program to limit spending,", Yordan Ivanov concluded.
