What the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy has proposed is, to put it mildly, an imitation of the transposition of directives. The legal proposals are scandalous. The ministry should change its name and remove labor from its name. We want to propose a new name - Ministry of Scandalous Policy. This was stated by the vice-president of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions Todor Kapitanov after the meeting of the Tripartite Council, quoted by "Focus".
"I regret that the minister is not here so that we can propose the new name to him", he added.
During the meeting, the implementation of the directive on adequate minimum wage and the promotion of collective bargaining was discussed.
"With the proposals in this bill, working people are left without encouragement to negotiate their wages and we will still be talking about the fact that there are serfs in enterprises. There is no peace for the union defense and the most worrying thing is that when they go to defend their rights, they will most likely be arrested", noted Kapitanov.
"We want to tell the ministry that the directives for workers are not optional, but mandatory and the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions will do everything so that there is no legislation in Bulgaria that imitates", he added.
"Where there is a collective agreement, the salary is at least 14% higher than in places where there is none. In the context of the budget, we asked the minister to confirm the amount of the minimum wage. We are assured that it will be 1,213 leva", said Lyuboslav Kostov, Chief Economist of the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions.
