Due to the introduction of the euro, the Ministry of Social Affairs is proposing changes to a number of by-laws, the Bulgarian National Radio reports.
Among them is the Ordinance on Business Trips in the country, proposing that daily allowances for business trips for more than one day with an overnight stay, which are currently 40 leva, from January 1 next year will be a round sum - 22 euros, and not 20.45 euros, as calculated at the fixed exchange rate of the Bulgarian National Bank.
For business trips within one day, without an overnight stay, 20 leva is now payable. The proposal is to pay 11 euros from January 1st.
The change is motivated by the fact that this will ensure easier administration and reporting of money for business trips, as it will not be necessary to make calculations in cents.
The rights of employees are also guaranteed, for whom the amount of income will not be reduced in view of the introduction of the euro.
