And without Borisov – it will dawn again, and without a rooster – it will dawn again. This was said by the leader of “We continue the change“ Asen Vassilev in “This morning“ and called on the chairman of GERB not to wait for the New Year to resign the government. He added that while the legal procedures are underway, at least a month will pass and the cabinet will be able to boast that “it brought us into the eurozone“.
According to him, the mass anti-government protest of December 10 was twice as large as the previous one and clearly showed the will of the people. He pointed out that according to their party, there were about 150 thousand people at the demonstration in Sofia. In Plovdiv – over 50 thousand people, and in Varna - over 30 thousand Bulgarians.
Vassilev pointed out that after the end of the protest, the waste was collected and arranged around the bins.
„The whole country is telling this government: „Enough! Resign and don't get Bulgaria into trouble“. When so many people demand your resignation and if the government tries to rule the country by force, this can create unrest“, commented Vassilev.
The PP leader commented that there were more uniformed people at the protest compared to the demonstration on December 1, but provocateurs were still noticed. Asked why they changed their demands from „change the budget“ in “resignation“, Vassilev replied:
“Because we received complete arrogance and zero audibility. The people in the square saw this too. The truth is that it wouldn't have come this far if the government hadn't been so arrogant – political arrests, a complete failure of the dialogue with employers, throwing the budget at everyone's expense. It doesn't work that way“, said Vassilev.
He called on the ruling majority to support the vote of no confidence. Vassilev is categorical that our entry into the eurozone cannot be compromised and gave an example of how we entered “Schengen“ with a working cabinet.
“We need elections as soon as possible so that all these people who are outside can go out and vote. Increased voter turnout is expected, this would give legitimacy to a new government,“ added the PP chairman.
