"After the resignation, there must certainly be elections, fair elections. Huge activity. Many more citizens to vote in them, so that we can cope with the basic task that the protest gave us, namely the dismantling of the Peevski model", said the co-chairman of the DB Ivaylo Mirchev in the program "120 minutes".
Proposal for a machine vote
First of all, what the parliament needs to do now is the extension law on the budget. It must be adopted so that the state can continue to work normally and we can enter the eurozone normally. Out of the budget - a bill to introduce 100% voting machines. We need to go back to July 2021, when there was a completely machine-based vote. Then the counting was fast, fraud was minimized, Mirchev said.
According to him, the proposal will be supported by all parties that have some instinct for political self-preservation. "People have already understood how elections are rigged. They saw what happened in Pazardzhik, where Peevski bought the elections. People do not want politicians to be elected with fake ballots," he commented.
Who should be the acting prime minister
"Anyone who can guarantee the fairness of the elections is acceptable. It is time for people to understand after the recent events of December that Peevski is not so scary. Not every acting prime minister, every acting minister of the interior can turn a blind eye and be afraid to do the right thing," said Mirchev.
"Perhaps you remember when Rashkov was acting minister of the interior. A general fight with the bought vote in the National Assembly, hundreds of questions, then there was revenge from the MRF against Rashkov for the fact that a large part of the bought vote was intercepted. We expect the future minister of the interior to know that he has an obligation to his country. We will not participate in any majorities, in any agreements within this parliament. No matter who will be prime minister, the important thing is that he is a good statesman," said Mirchev.
About the upcoming elections
"We appealed to all people at the protest to join as observers and advocates of our coalition in order to guarantee the vote. In second place is a great civic platform "You Count", which will participate with observers in this vote". This is how Mirchev commented on the upcoming elections.
And he added: "If I meet violators of the vote, they will be ashamed. It is high time we had much tougher actions. So far, so much talk. These people only understand one thing - slaps and fists, so that this model can be destroyed. That's why we are there, so that those who have captivated this country for 15 years can be swept away. Let these new ones come, regardless of whether they are Gen Z-ites.
Candidates for official prime minister in the "house book" to the President: They do not want to comment on "hypotheses"
The National Assembly continues to work, and for the acting prime minister, according to the Constitution, the head of state can only choose from a certain circle of persons
Mirchev also said that they are considering turning Peevski's office into a library.
For the DB, anything beyond 120 votes in parliament is a compromise. He refused to comment on a possible alliance with President Radev.
