Today, the operation to tow the tanker “Kairos“ from Ahtopol begins.
Yesterday, the activities to secure and prepare for the towing of the vessel, which has been off the coast of Ahtopol for more than a week, were successfully completed.
For this purpose, a fishing vessel from Burgas transported a 5-ton emergency marine generator to the tanker. A team of electrical engineers and mechanics supplied power to the ship's systems, and a technical team also boarded.
With the help of the generator, the hydraulic system and the left anchor were brought into working order.
Three tugboats traveled all night to Ahtopol, and are about to tow the tanker to the designated safe place in the Burgas Bay.
