Mihail Mikov: Radev's inclusion cannot but cause jealousy and tension - 1

The emergence of any new political entity with potential cannot but cause jealousy and tension. I expect Rumen Radev's new formation to be attacked by many people. This was stated in an interview with NOVA NEWS by the former chairman of the BSP Mihail Mikov about President Rumen Radev's application to participate in the parliamentary elections in the spring.

Mikov specified that what is now important is what political platform Radev's new coalition will profess and which parties will be at its core. According to him, one of the pressing problems is inequalities in Bulgaria and he believes that it would only be beneficial for the still-incumbent president to address this issue.

„If we assume from his statement that changing the model means that he considers the constitutional model, he should state whether he sees problems in parliamentary government. In my opinion, however, this issue does not bother Bulgarians as much as the prices in stores“, noted Mikov.

He also indicated that he does not expect Vice President Iliyana Yotova to resign.

When asked whether he would join the new formation if he received an invitation from Rumen Radev, Mihail Mikov replied that it depends on the people in the formation and its political platform.

In conclusion, he commented that the BSP is in a difficult situation before the elections: “Leadership battles are starting again and who will be the chairman of the party. These people do not feel where they are, especially with the president having already resigned and his entry into the political arena.“
