At the European People's Party Summit in Zagreb, Boyko Borisov told some of the European leaders why Bulgaria had joined Donald Trump's Peace Council.

Boyko Borisov, leader of GERB: "For all those who were interested in the so-called Peace Council, they understand us very well, they listened very carefully. We... I say this for the Bulgarian critics - there has never been any doubt in Europe about the discipline and loyalty of GERB. Quite the opposite. We are in the Council and the committee of those who wish, we firmly support Ukraine, we participate in military aid."

Borisov indicated that he had spoken with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, with whom he discussed the competitiveness and security of Europe. As well as the development of the military industry. The topic of the construction of a plant for explosives and shells between the German concern “Rheinmetall“ and Bulgaria Borisov discussed with the Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

Boyko Borisov, leader of GERB: "Pride for Bulgaria is also represented by artificial intelligence, INSIGHT, and the huge attention and interest, especially of German companies, in it."

The gas infrastructure was the focus of the conversation with the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Boyko Borisov, leader of GERB: "Everyone is very interested in what Bulgaria is doing - investing in this huge gas infrastructure that we have, with the most powerful compressors - 80% of them on the Balkan Peninsula are on the territory of Bulgaria. In addition, the optical network is of great interest, especially the IT sector, which has been noticed in Europe."

Bulgaria's transition to the euro was one of the topics that Borisov discussed with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković. The GERB leader expressed hope that the next government will be stable in order to realize the European prospects.

Boyko Borisov, leader of GERB: "People here in Europe have a huge understanding of Bulgaria and we must use it for very rapid industrialization, very quickly for the economy to work, for one or two more large German or European companies to come. Because we have been noticed, we are good, we are at the table of those who make decisions. I am extremely pleased and I hope that in the coming months, not only will there be no chaos, but a good government will be formed that can keep up with everything that Europe is doing."

Borisov expressed gratitude to those present for Bulgaria's accession to Schengen and the eurozone.
