Iva Miteva: Rumen Radev is a man of action. He shows strength and character, we need such people right now - 1

I believe that Rumen Radev is a man of action. He shows strength and character, we need such people right now. I support his position on the eurozone and I believe that the transition should have been more measured. This was said by the former Speaker of the National Assembly Iva Miteva in the studio of “Your Day“ on "Nova Television".

When asked whether she would join Rumen Radev's team or participate in the elections, Miteva replied: “Let the elections be scheduled, let the deadlines under the election law begin and we will all understand who will participate where“. She called for patience and stressed that it was still too early for concrete answers.

Miteva specified that rumors about a possible exit from the eurozone or the EU are speculation and do not correspond to Radev's positions.

Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, she explained: “I personally have always voted against sending weapons to Ukraine, because I do not believe that the war can be won like that“.

Miteva emphasized the need for reasonable changes to the Constitution and anti-corruption legislation: “Closing the anti-corruption commission and transferring functions to other institutions was wrong. The law on the judiciary and the Supreme Judicial Council have serious problems that need to be solved“.

She also commented on political rhetoric and cooperation with different parties: “There are decent people and specialists everywhere who can be used. We must seek normality, not left-right.

When asked about the electoral changes and the restrictions on sections abroad, Miteva said: “The division of Bulgarian citizens by ethnic identity is an outrage. Every Bulgarian citizen, regardless of where he lives, should have the right to vote“.

Iva Miteva also said that the conversation was focused on the overall political picture and the electoral processes, without confirming specific participation as a candidate-MP: “We are not yet in an active electoral process. When the elections are scheduled, it will become clear who will participate where“.

Iva Miteva was categorical that political decisions should be evaluated by actions, not by words: “The question is not who is from which party, but who does what and whether his decisions are useful and working..
