In connection with media publications that GERB MP Delyan Dobrev may resign from the party, today the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Kostadin Angelov made a comment on the subject.
"We have not received such information at the moment. Mr. Dobrev is a politician who is one of the bright faces of GERB. Together we have achieved many of the policies for which we have fought in recent years. Otherwise, we all have families, children and are under enormous pressure in parliament. "We are being hurled a lot of insults, slander, and hate speech," said Kostadin Angelov, quoted by BNT.
Very often at home we have to explain what exactly we are doing and what is happening. So, at the moment, Mr. Dobrev has not submitted his resignation. If he does so, it will be a personal act that should not be a reason for any kind of political speculation, he added.
"From a political point of view, GERB is a very large political formation. Many people have left, many people have come to GERB. GERB has always remained monolithic and strong, because the strength of our party is not in individuals. The strength of our party is in the team, in the results that we achieve together. And everyone sees this, Angelov said.
When asked if there has been any conflict in the party recently, Kostadin Angelov said that there has been no conflict either in the party or with its leader.
I personally have not witnessed such a thing. That's why I said - there is no point in looking for speculation where there is none. And this is the harmful way in which information is being tried to be conveyed, he added.
