Gyurov discusses upcoming elections with students from the December protests - 1

Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov will meet with representatives of the students who participated in the protests in December 2025.

During the conversation, which will take place at their request, the upcoming early parliamentary elections will be discussed. Gyurov will also talk about the organization of the vote with members of the Central Election Commission, at their invitation.

Meanwhile, the commission adopted and published the conditions for the formation of polling stations abroad and the appointment of members to them.

In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, polling stations abroad are formed in compliance with the legislation of the respective country. Our diplomats abroad will determine the location of the polling stations, taking into account the territorial distribution of Bulgarian communities. By February 22, they must also request consent to hold the vote in the host country.

Organizations of Bulgarian citizens abroad may make proposals for the location of the sections no later than March 25. They are formed by our ambassadors based on a decision of the CEC, which will announce the locations after processing the submitted applications for voting abroad and summarizing the data.

A Bulgarian citizen who has the right to vote on April 19 and wishes to vote outside the country may request this no later than March 24 by means of a written application using a template, which can be sent electronically via the commission's website or by mail. No later than March 1, there must be an opportunity to submit applications electronically. A voter who has not submitted an application for voting abroad may vote in an established polling station, by filling out a declaration form when casting his vote.

The members of the sectional election commissions are appointed by the Central Commission after consultations with the parliamentaryly represented parties and coalitions. Each section abroad will have one member, proposed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
