No commitments or powers have been assigned to the non-governmental organization "National Agency for the Control of Protected Areas" (NACPTA) by the General Directorate of Border Police (GDBPA), the directorate reported to BTA. The "Border Police" added that they have not concluded any agreements for joint activities with the NACPTA.
The "Border Police" added that in November 2024, due to necessity, when performing activities by employees of the regional directorate in Dragoman to intercept illegal activity related to "illegal migration" near the “Petrohan“ hut, on the basis of an article of the Ministry of Interior law, a drone with thermal imaging surveillance was provided by the non-governmental organization. The General Directorate of the Police clarified that no incidents occurred during the one-time assistance provided to the National Agency for the Protection of Wildlife and Natural Resources.
Also, the regional directorate in Dragoman has not registered any signals of excessive authority by Ivaylo Kalushev's organization.
