A public transport bus caught fire while moving in the center of Plovdiv. The incident occurred at around 1 p.m. on the central boulevard “Tsar Boris III Obedinitel”.
According to initial information, the fire started from the rear of the vehicle, where the engine is located. The flames engulfed the bus in minutes, but all 15 passengers managed to get off in time. There are no reports of injuries. The driver told NOVA that he was the first to notice the smoke and immediately stopped.
Two fire brigade teams arrived at the scene immediately, brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading. The area around the incident was cordoned off, and traffic in the city center was temporarily disrupted.
The cause of the fire is still being determined. An investigation is expected to determine whether it was a technical malfunction or another factor.
