“The big task that was set, namely the eurozone and Schengen, on the one hand, and on the other - Borisov and Peevski under 80 MPs and the opportunity for real judicial reform, has been accomplished“, said in “Face to Face“ the leader of “We continue the change“ (PP) Assen Vassilev.
“Now the second big task is on the agenda, which is for Bulgarian citizens to live better and for Bulgaria to become a richer country. This is the economic-social model, and there with colleagues from “Democratic Bulgaria“ (DB) we have quite different visions“, explained Vassilev.
He gave an example that back in the years during the budget votes there were many times when PP and DB voted differently.
Assen Vassilev again specified that in the presidential elections PP and DB will appear together. They will also remain together in the municipal councils.
“This is not some dramatic step, but a normal evolution“, said the PP leader.
According to him, the best way forward for PP is to return to its centrist vision of not raising taxes.
“At the National Council there was one vote against the division of PP and DB into two parliamentary groups. Nikola Minchev is the one vote against“, said Asen Vassilev.
When asked if there was an agreement not to use preferences in the elections on April 19, he answered as follows: “If something is in a written document, it is agreed. If it is not, it is not agreed. It is not in a written document.“
“Today we submitted 11 bills to the parliament. The first two of them are related to the first two priorities that we stated. The first is that the SJC in its current format cannot appoint and staff until it is replaced. The second is to drop the security of Borisov and Peevski, so that there are no more equal people in the state“, explained the leader of the PP.
“Boyko Borisov has not been prime minister since 2021. Five years later, we have 20 people with I don't know how many jeeps, who cost the state an outrageous amount of money to protect an ordinary MP“, Vassilev also said.
“I don't think that anything related to Borisov's work as prime minister since 2021 is a reason for having security today. He and Peevski enjoy security greater than that of the prime minister and the president“, he added.
