Ivaylo Mirchev: Volgin and SEM are turning the BNR into a mouthpiece of hybrid Russian propaganda

Deputy from PP-DB Ivaylo Mirchev commented on social networks the idea of Petar Volgin being broadcast as a candidate for MEP from "Vazrazhdane":

"The voice of Putinism in Bulgaria was nominated as a candidate for MEP by 47 structures of “VaZrazhdane". We are talking about the person who floods the BNR airwaves with anti-European, anti-NATO, anti-everything-progressive ideology. It is a challenge for me to collect “Volgin" and “MEP" in one sentence, but the revivalists obviously do not find a contradiction in such a candidacy.

In fact, it is not particularly surprising that the party-mouthpiece of Russian influence in our country wants to send a Putinist journalist to the European Parliament. Volgin's idea of an ideal interlocutor is in the range between Kostadin Kostadinov and Prof. Ivo Hristov. The man, as they say, has made his audience.

Now the director of the BNR said that if Volgin becomes a candidate, he will lose his position as a presenter in the BNR. It remained and not to lose her. For me, however, the more important question is: how do we prevent hybrid propaganda from using our national media to cultivate not just anti-European MEPs, but also the public ready to support them?
