The regional governor of Sofia, Vyara Todeva, demanded that BGN 2.5 million be provided for the restoration and conservation of the figures and bas-reliefs from the Monument to the Soviet Army.

"In connection with the previously held market consultation to determine the estimated value of the public order for the restoration of the figures from the monument "Monument to the Soviet Army", located in the Prince's Garden, the regional governor also sent a letter to the Minister the chairman of Dimitar Glavchev to increase the maximum amount of expenditure commitments that can be undertaken by the Sofia District Administration in 2024. According to the received indicative price proposal, the amount required for the upcoming activities amounts to BGN 2,548,000. Including including 10% unforeseen expenses", the regional administration also writes.
