Hristo Petrov: Those who make the recordings treat people like fish who are given something in the aquarium - 1

I want to create a European program to provide camps for all children along the lines of sports, language learning and the arts. Even if I could only realize this cause, I would be satisfied, knowing the pace at which work is being done in these institutions. I would say that this cause is my biggest but not my only priority. This was stated by the candidate for deputy from “We continue the change– Democratic Bulgaria” Hristo Petrov.

When asked why he is a candidate from three lists, he answered: “The opportunity to be a candidate for both the European Parliament and the Bulgarian one, I think is good from the point of view of the different things you can do in these two places. In the Bulgarian parliament, although I was elected inexperienced, I managed to realize the most important thing I wanted – to remove an injustice to the adopted and see to it that the pocket money of the children in these homes is increased. There are also unfinished things, because the parliaments in recent years have been very short and there is still no time, he added.

Whether he will go to Brussels or decide to stay in the Bulgarian parliament, Petrov clarified, the decision depends on the final result of the elections. “One of the things I am in “Continuing the Change” for is that I make the decisions. My preference is for the European Parliament because I think my cause is important and doable. Allies on children's topics are easier to find. It may sound like a convenient way, but this is the truth,” said the candidate for deputy in the EP and National Assembly.

Regarding the conversations allegedly from a meeting of “Continuing the Change”, he had a guess as to who was behind the recordings. “It is very interesting that people do not pay much attention to their content. It is heard that they are deliberately of poor quality, cut, pasted, so that shortly before the elections, something that is completely fake can appear – deepfake. I expect that to be the tactic, I'm pretty sure that's the scenario,” he added.

„What is this conversation – we have been in government, we have left it and we have no money for an election campaign. If people don't hear that, I don't know what they need to hear. The people who make these records are using a very well-tested scheme. She has been working for a long time, but she treats people not as people, but as fish that are given something in the aquarium. The good thing is that people haven't been like that for a long time, some of them have never been like that," added Petrov.

„In the 21st century, to think that people will forget everything that you are, and you will put in their eyes some mirror made-up scandals to cover up your own whites, I don't believe it will work. The facts are that some very wrong things have been done in Bulgaria in the last 15 years. They don't need records to be proven,” commented the candidate for deputy.

„We have never had any doubts about what GERD and DPS are. It was hell ahead of us – to choose whether we must survive, or must try at least with the little we have the opportunity to do something. If our goal was to survive, the choice is clear, we would never have done such a collaboration, because you can see what it led to,”, emphasized Petrov.
