Political shootings in the Metropolitan Municipal Council. The two largest groups in the local parliament, PP-DB-Spassi Sofia and GERB-SDS, accused each other of corruption schemes.

The PP-DB-SS demanded the resignation of the executive director of “Toplofikatsia– Sofia” Alexander Alexandrov, who was appointed at the time of Yordanka Fandakova. According to them, he assisted companies close to the woman he lives with to win public contracts.

GERB responded with disclosures about a conflict of interest in awarding contracts, again related to the partners of representatives of the new municipal administration.

“The information about this absolutely obvious conflict of interest between Mr. Alexandrov and the woman with whom he lives, we will report to the Prosecutor's Office, to the Commission for Countering Corruption and Conflict of Interest, and to ADFI”, commented Boris Bonev from PP-DB-SS.

“On May 17, Deputy Mayor for Finance Ivan Vassilev and Municipality Secretary Adriana Popova concluded two contracts with the subject - printing of election papers, the company belongs to the mayor of the “Slatina” Georgi Iliev and his wife Mrs. Ilieva”, explained Anton Hekimyan from GERB-SDS.

From “Heating Sofia” categorically deny, adding that the public procurement cited by Boris Bonev is currently under investigation. After the company is informed about the result of the inspection, it will present the decision to its principal - the Metropolitan Municipal Council.

In turn, the mayor of “Slatina” Georgi Iliev explained that according to the contract for the production of materials for the elections cited by GERB, the company belongs to his ex-wife and she received BGN 16,000.
