Vanya Nusheva: The biggest problem of the elections remains the Sectional Electoral Commissions - 1

Problems surrounding the counting of votes continued for days. No one is surprised that there was again a huge amount of wrong and scratched protocols. This year, however, the CEC decided to incentivize the members of the CEC with BGN 25 each if they submit correct protocols.

"The CEC gained enough experience in conducting elections. We can determine that she did a good job of organizing the election. We have some defined, detailed, sometimes unnecessarily detailed rules for the election process. The legislation itself creates problems in the work of the electoral commission. We must not forget, however, that the decisions of the CEC, some of them are also politically motivated, given the composition and the way in which the members of the CEC are broadcast", said the lecturer on electoral systems at Sofia University Vanya Nusheva in the studio of Bulgaria ON AIR .

According to her, the biggest problem remains the Sectional Election Commissions.

"The two big problems that are the result of the way in which the issue was resolved in the legislation - the fact that the members of the commissions are nominated only on a party basis and that they are not well trained and are being replaced. We constantly talk about this after every type of election that takes place," Nusheva noted.
