On the occasion of inquiries from the media, we inform you that the District Prosecutor's Office &ndash ; Plovdiv is monitoring pre-trial proceedings to establish the causes of the death of RG, aged 67, a British citizen. He died on 19.06.2024 in the city of Plovdiv, in the "St. Georgi“, in the Department of Toxicology, where he was admitted
same day.

It has been established that on June 18, 2024, in the evening, R.G. sought medical attention at the hospital. He was examined and then released. A little later, R.G. returned to the hospital, demanding to be examined again.

For this reason, a report was made to the private security company involved in the security of the hospital. Several employees from the company responded to the entrance of the “Emergency Center” of UMBAL “St. Georgi“. A conflict situation arose there between the British citizen and the security guards.

They tried to remove him from the hospital area, but he refused, insisting on being examined by a doctor. At that time, R.G. was pushed to the ground by one of the security guards and remained there until the arrival of a police team from the Second RU, Plovdiv, where a report was filed about the incident.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have established that R.G. in was conscious. He was subsequently admitted to the Hospital's Toxicology Unit where he died in the early hours of June 19, 2024.

According to the pre-trial proceedings, investigative actions are carried out - witnesses are questioned, material evidence is seized, a triple forensic medical examination is appointed to answer the question of the cause of R.G.'s death. and whether there are traumatic injuries on his body, as well as a chemical examination to determine whether there was alcohol in the blood of the deceased.

After collecting all the evidence, the supervising prosecutor will make an analysis and an assessment will be made for possible prosecution.
