In the show “Face to face“ he stated that President Rumen Radev is ready to support the process of exiting the crisis, but it is important for him to see whether sufficient support will be provided for the coalition's proposals.
Yesterday, its representatives were with the head of state, announcing that they are proposing anti-corruption laws and solutions. If enough MPs unite around them, there could be a government afterwards. That is why the formation asked Radev for a postponement before the handing over of the second mandate.
Readiness for conversation, but not for support, was already announced by GERB-SDS. However, Atanasov cannot understand why Boyko Borisov's party is categorically unwilling to support the second and third terms. “Governing the state is not whims”, said Atanasov.
He wants to see how the first meetings in parliament about the proposals will go, but he pointed out that politicians must comply with the will of the people, and 2/3 of the voters do not want new elections.
Bozhidar Bojanov, Nadezhda Yordanova and Ludmila Ilieva will participate in these meetings from the PP-DB side.
The deputy explained that the candidate for the prime minister's seat must be selected with joint efforts and be clearly empowered with the freedom to independently choose his ministers.
Atanasov's proposal is that this person be chosen from one of the following three options:
- Former constitutional judge;
- Diplomat;
- Teacher.
"Governing the country is not whims and personal selfishness. In negotiated politics, anything can be achieved. "Politicians must take into account the public sentiments", he is categorical.
Atanasov also shared his concerns about the fires raging in the country. "Half of Southern Bulgaria is burning. The interior minister and the prime minister went to the place to take pictures, they were going to create a headquarters. Apparently the coordination is not up to par. Deficits must be quickly eliminated and people should be helped," appealed the People's Representative.
