There will be no facilities for storing nuclear weapons at the airbase next to Graf Ignatievo. This is clear from the written response of the Acting Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov to a question posed by MP Ivan Petkov from the BSP, BNR reports.
The Ministry of Defense responds that when preparing the initial specifications for the infrastructure projects in the area for the F-16 fighter jets, the construction of warehouses for the storage of nuclear weapons is not foreseen.

In Zapryanov's response, it is stated that at the base where the F-16 aircraft will be located, there are no facilities to be serviced "only by foreign military".
Currently, facilities related to the operation and storage of the new aircraft are being built. They will be carried out by Bulgarian military personnel.
Objects related to bilateral cooperation with the United States are also being built. They will be used by both countries.
