„Comrades, thank you for being here - improvised, without unnecessary organization. Without noise and pomp, sincerely and from the heart. On the very day on which the beginning was made, we are here in this holy place. There is no other party in Bulgaria with such a sacred place that it has respected for more than a century. This place and the people who started it are not forgotten.
With these words, Kornelia Ninova addressed the socialists who came on August 2 to the Historical Meadow under Mount Buzludzha - the day on which the foundations of the organized socialist movement in our country were laid.
People welcomed Ninova with lots of flowers, hugs and strong words of support. The resigned chairman of the BSP stopped everywhere, shook hundreds of hands, talked to representatives of many organizations from all over the country.
„This fell to us – besides protecting our country in these times of crisis, let's also protect our party”. This is what the People's Representative from the "BSP for Bulgaria" said. Ivan Chenchev at an impromptu conversation with the socialists, after everyone who came to the top offered flowers and paid tribute to the memory of the heroes. People's representatives from the "BSP for Bulgaria" also talked with the socialists. Georgi Svilenski and Veska Nencheva.
„Here, in addition to the beginning of our party, the blood of heroes - of partisans, of Chetniks - was also shed. These are people who gave their lives for Bulgaria. And today our rulers are selling Bulgaria to save their lives. To save their privileges, blessings and wealth. Therefore, solidarity, justice, equality and peace - the principles on which our party was founded are still more than relevant today. The world changes, but there are also eternal things in life. The struggle for justice, for freedom, for the protection of the wronged is an eternal struggle. And we are here to show that we are not betraying this struggle”, said Cornelia Ninova and added:
„Because, comrades, going up here, I had the feeling of my first meeting 8 years ago, when I became the chairman of the BSP. The feeling even of the same words, as if to tell you. Then I spoke to you for the first time about the parallel state, about the backstage, about the deep state, which has covered all of Bulgaria and which sucks the life force of the people.
Well, we've gone back 8 years. And today it is so. Never mind that there was a bright breakthrough in 2020, when the people justly rose up in protest. This protest was lost. That protest was wasted. The mob strangled him. She collected some of those who stood in the squares. He embraced them and destroyed them. But we couldn't. We continue with this cause because all we want to achieve is a goal. But the means to achieve this goal is the destruction of the backstage and the parallel state, the destruction of that model of governance in which circles, oligarchic groups and economic models, business partners distribute the state to each other. Do not think that today something different is happening and that this parliament will fail again, once again. And today there is a battle between circles in Bulgaria who want to tear it apart. But there is one party, there are some people who did not surrender all this time. They have tried everything - I have told you many times - both the carrot and the stick, and it is part of the reason that today we have reached 7 percent. She's not the only one, of course. We have our faults too. But our firmness and unyieldingness to fight for the rule of law, for order, for justice, caused such a reaction,”, said the outgoing chairman of the BSP, Kornelia Ninova.
She was categorical: “But we are here again and with you, who give us both strength and energy with everything you told me, we have the strength to continue this struggle. Because we remained the only party with ideals, with a program, with a goal for Bulgaria and for the good of the people, the only party. And if today someone tries to take that, exactly that away from us, we will not allow it. If today someone tries to bring the party back into the clutches of the backstage, of their business interests, of the red aristocratic circles, of the oligarchs in the party, and if someone today opens the door again to the merchants in the temple, you, we, have a duty to resist. Not only for ourselves, but for the country, for the people who still believe in us. And what they say is that we are the only party that cares about them.
This is a cause, comrades! This is not a political snapshot. We have a cause, we have strong enemies against that cause. We have people who beat us, slander us, curse us, but it's not the first time, it's been over 100 years. And we have always found the vital forces to oppose it. Because the party has an immune system, you are its immune system. "The members of the party are the strength," said Cornelia Ninova. Her words received strong support from the socialists.
Cornelia Ninova urged: “Don't give up the party! Don't give the direct choice! Choose your leader, but you choose him, don't let the oligarchy put someone who will lead you in a direction contrary to your will, your convictions, the welfare of the Bulgarian people. The power is within you!
We are here to thank you, to give you energy, to take from your strength and energy, from your smiles and wishes, to shake hands and move forward. Don't lose heart, I always told you this on this meadow, I always ended my speeches with you: keep your head up, don't lose heart, don't lose heart! We are strong, we have will, we have character, we have spirit, they cannot break us. There is an old saying: he who does not want anything cannot be bought. We want nothing for ourselves. We want the prosperity of Bulgaria, the prosperity of the Bulgarian people," said Kornelia Ninova.
