The head of the Delegation of the Bulgarian Socialists in the European Parliament (2019-2024) Petar Vitanov was returned to the BSP by a decision of the National Council of the party.
"Today, the BSP National Council canceled the decision by which I and 14 other socialists were excluded from the party and its governing bodies. 18 months ago, we allowed ourselves to speak the obvious truth, to which many closed their eyes - that with Cornelia Ninova and her political actions, the BSP is headed for destruction. Instead of listening to us, they accused us of being hooligans. Instead of supporting us, they removed us so we wouldn't get in the way," comments Petar Vitanov.
"Unfortunately, we turned out to be right - today the party has collapsed, and its recovery will be painful and long. Our return to BSP leaves a bitter taste and feeling of wasted time and irretrievably lost opportunities. But it also gives hope that there is a way to the truth, and courage is the weapon of progress”, he adds.
