We monitor the points for annual technical inspections and the cars that have more than one refusal. This was told to journalists by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Dimitar Nedyalkov, who participated in the meeting of the competent parliamentary committee.
Nedyalkov provided information to the deputies from the commission about the problems and the measures taken related to the periodic inspections to check the technical condition of the cars, as well as about the proposed changes in the regulation that regulates them.
„If we judge by the signals we receive in the ministry, things have calmed down. People realized that they had to make sure that their cars were technically sound. "They should do everything possible to put them into operation," said Deputy Minister Nedyalkov. According to him, after the changes that made the electronic and automatic connection between the inspection points and the Executive Agency “Vehicle Administration”, technically defective cars that are not allowed to drive are relatively few. According to the data cited by Nedyalkov, about 1% of the 300,000 cars do not pass the inspection.
Dimitar Nedyalkov also added that the possibility of mobile laboratories stopping and checking cars on the road, measuring whether the harmful emissions emitted by them meet the norms, is being discussed.
We include this thing in the budget of the Executive Agency “Automotive Administration“ for next year, which, however, has yet to be considered and approved. It is at an early stage. I say this as a set measure that we have foreseen in the direction of ensuring the implementation of the European directive for cleaner air. "Bulgaria is threatened with punishment in this connection," he pointed out.
The deputy minister assured that control over the points for annual technical inspections is carried out.
According to Dimitar Nedyalkov, the period for public discussion of the changes in the regulation has already ended, and all proposals are yet to be reviewed and summarized.
