I am filming a brutal traffic violation with a video recorder and a phone, I submit the video and photos to the traffic police. I expect the traffic police to act quickly, to identify the offender by the registration number of his car and to receive the fine.
Nothing like that. After I sent the traffic police video and photos of the violation electronically (in Google drive), the traffic police responded: Come to the place with an ID card and video and photos recorded on a flash drive. Otherwise, work on this signal is terminated, even though all necessary information on it has been provided.
This was revealed on "Facebook" MP from PP-DB Ivaylo Mirchev.
Three parliaments ago, together with Bozhidar Bojanov, we proposed an amendment to the law that would not allow the Ministry of the Interior to not do its job:
" Art. 40 (6) If it is impossible to draw up the deed in the presence of witnesses, when there are pre-signed information on their part about the violation, the deed can be drawn up in their absence, and this circumstance is noted in the deed. The information under the previous sentence can be sent by the witnesses electronically, and a qualified electronic signature is not required.”
Our proposal has been stopped several times in committee by Peevski's MP - Halil Letifov.
The result - thousands of violators do not receive punishment and riot on the roads.
