There will be a bonus system in the capital's transport sector . At a meeting today, we introduced the unions to our proposal, which is in fulfillment of the agreements we made earlier in the year to introduce such a system in the fall of 2024. This was announced by the capital's mayor, Vasil Terziev, at a briefing, quoted by BTA.

According to him, by the middle of next week, the trade unions must inform their members about the proposals and the agreement will be signed, which will calm the system.

Iliyan Pavlov, deputy mayor for transport, commented that the proposed bonus system complies with the demands of workers and unions. "In my opinion, it is extremely fair, maybe from the first time it will not be the most ideal, but it is certainly a good start that will reduce the difference in salaries and in how the drivers and the administration support each other," said Pavlov. He pointed out that the more difficult lines will be better paid and the easier ones less, there will be categories for the lines.

The deputy mayor explained that the bonus system is structured in such a way that it is tied to the minimum wage. According to him, the bonus system will cost about BGN 15 million for next year.

When asked how much money will be needed initially, Pavlov answered – “With the estimates that we from the municipality have, it is possible to allocate BGN 1 million per month, and this will start from November 1”.

In connection with the request of municipal councilors from GERB-SDS for an extraordinary session on traffic and road safety, Mayor Terziev did not answer the question of whether he was ready to be heard, stating that some of the topics raised were "untenable". The chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council, Tsvetomir Petrov, commented that he will get acquainted with the request and the motives of the petitioners before making a decision on convening the municipal council.
