Five French tourists got lost in the area of Mount Kupena in Rila last night, BTA reported. referring to information from the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) to the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC).
From there, they specified that two people from the rescue team in Samokov assisted them - they found them and took them to the "Scary Lake" shelter. Tourists are currently moving from "Scary Lake" to Maliovitsa and are fine, PSS also reported.
The PSS warns that the weather in the mountains is windy, with scattered clouds, there is fog in places in the lower parts, and temperatures vary between 4 and 10 degrees. In general, the conditions for tourism are good, but people who chose the mountain during the holidays should choose their routes carefully, mountain rescuers advise.
According to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH), today before noon it will be cloudy over Eastern Bulgaria, with precipitation in some places, but by the end of the day the precipitation will stop there as well. In the rest of the country it will be rainless and the clouds will break and reduce to mostly sunny weather. It will blow mainly moderate north-westerly, in the eastern half of the country – north-northeast, wind. Temperatures will drop with prevailing highs of 15°-17° in North-Eastern Bulgaria up to 23°-24° in places in the Upper Thracian lowland and in the extreme southwestern regions, in Sofia - about 19°.
Over the mountains in the western part of the country, the cloudiness will break and decrease, and over the rest of the massifs it will be significant and before noon there will still be rain in places. A strong wind will blow from the northwest. The maximum temperature at a height of 1200 meters will be about 14°, at 2000 meters - about 7°.
Over the Black Sea during most of the day it will be mostly cloudy and there will be rain showers in many places. In the evening, the rain will stop and the clouds will begin to break. A moderate wind will blow mainly from the north-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be between 18° and 21°. The temperature of the sea water is 20°-22°. The excitement of the sea will be 2-3 bales.
