Borislav Sarafov submitted his concept to the SJC - 1

The candidate for chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov submitted his concept to the Supreme Judicial Council for the management of the prosecutor's office in the next seven years, dariknews.bg reported.

The Union of Judges called on the SJC not to elect a chief prosecutor and chairman of the Supreme Court

In the document, he states that he expresses his views, “but also ideas that were shared with him by colleagues from various structures and units of the prosecution and investigative services”.

Among the priorities that Sarafov sets are:

Combating organized crime

Combating corruption crimes

Combating crimes related to transport injuries

Combating crimes related to domestic violence.

Borislav Sarafov expresses confidence that the prosecutor's office will be the initiator of joint actions with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the other special services and with the control institutions, as proactively and as a result of its analytical activity, it motivates them to work more energetically and by giving a procedural orientation to their work .

Sarafov notes that for him the leadership of the prosecution is a dynamic process that requires constant renewal and updating depending on the legal basis, the development of technologies and public relations.

The only candidate for the position of accused number 1 highlights among his priorities the task of the prosecutor's office to get the public trust it deserves and adds that he will do everything necessary to prevent the prosecutor's office from being used for political purposes.

He has accepted the nomination for the position, motivated by his "long professional experience – almost 30 years as an investigator and prosecutor in all levels of the system."

Borislav Sarafov says that the trust his colleagues have in him obliges him to take responsibility so that we don't “lose the positive momentum and direction in which we are going – to uphold the legality“.

On October 10, it became clear that Borislav Sarafov was nominated as a candidate for chief prosecutor. The only proposal was made by Stefan Petrov, Plamen Naydenov and Svetlana Boshnakova during the last session of the SJC Plenum, in which nominations for a new chief prosecutor could be made.

He is currently the acting chief prosecutor after the mandate of his predecessor Ivan Geshev was terminated early. His nomination was made on the last possible day set for the procedure.
