Climate investments are being discussed at the Bulgarian pavilion of SOR29 in Baku

Climate investments in "green" innovations, the role of banks and the place of women in financing the transition to net zero are the focus of the discussions planned today at the Bulgarian pavilion of SOR29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, BTA reported.

The Minister of Innovation and Growth in the caretaker government, Rosen Karadimov, will open the debate on climate finance from different segments of the financial sector. Representatives of development banks, private financial institutions and non-governmental organizations will participate in the discussion.

Memorandums of understanding between the Bulgarian Investment Agency and the Azerbaijan Investment Agency and between the Bulgarian Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and the Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of Slovenia are expected to be signed in the Bulgarian pavilion at SOR29.

Ministry of Environment and Water, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the Green Transition Forum co-organized a panel on women and climate finance. The Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Marina Stefanova, is the moderator of the discussion, which will include the Deputy Minister of Environment and Water in the caretaker government, Reneta Koleva, Barbara Kaufman, director of the General Directorate "Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion". in the European Commission, Ivelina Vasileva, advisor to the Prime Minister of Bulgaria and representative in the European mission "Restoring our oceans and waters", Monika Stanisheva, founder of the Green Transition Forum and others.

Today's day of SOR29 is dedicated to various projects and initiatives for financing the so-called green transition and at events highlighting the challenges facing different regions of the world from climate change, the forum program points out.
