Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Kondov began today his participation in the official meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the NATO allies with their bilateral meeting with the Secretary General of the Alliance Mark Rutte.
The two discussed a number of issues related to NATO's current agenda, priorities in the Alliance's collective approaches and Bulgarian participation. Emphasis was placed on the topics of strengthening the allies' defense capacity in the current complex security environment, the war in Ukraine and aid to Kiev, the complex situation in the Black Sea region.
The importance of building the transport corridors for ensuring the defense capabilities of NATO's area of responsibility in SEE was confirmed.
The Secretary General gave a high assessment of the efforts made by the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of defense.
