In a declaration read from the rostrum of the National Assembly, the chairman of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov raised issues important to Bulgarian citizens and pointed out that given the inflationary surges, as well as the rise in the prices of food and essential goods and the significant increase in the price of bread, it is a crime and national treason. He added that this is being done so that the Euro-Atlantic parties of the status quo can achieve a 3% deficit, which they need for Bulgaria's much-desired entry into the eurozone. This dream of theirs will bring the price of bread to 3 leva.
The end of the past year and the beginning of the new year brought one piece of news, namely that inflation in Bulgaria for the past year already meets the conditions for Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone.
Of course, this is not true, since this is an absolute falsification and lie. Last year, we from “Vazrazhdane” requested an inspection by “Eurostat” of the National Statistical Institute, because all Bulgarian citizens know that inflation is not 2%, as the NSI is trying to convince us, and that this is a falsification that was made with one sole purpose - for Bulgaria to formally meet the requirement for our country's membership in the eurozone. However, along with the falsification of the NSI data, the ruling Euro-American elites reached out and dug extremely deep into the pockets of Bulgarian citizens in two directions, which no one but us is talking about.
In order for them to no longer only be able to falsify the NSI inflation data, but also to do something that cannot be falsified, it must be paid for, namely to reduce the budget deficit to 3%, they did two things. First, they reduced and rather made it so that they pressured electricity prices not to jump last year, as a result of which we reached the situation at the beginning of the new year of a very serious jump of almost 10%, which will not be final this year, there will be another increase in the price of electricity.
The second thing that the parties of the Euro-Atlantic status quo did is that they provided for an increase in VAT on bread in their budget, as a result of which the price of bread jumped by 20%. And at the moment it continues to rise.
There is also a jump in fuel prices. Gasoline prices jumped by 10 stotinki and continue to rise slightly and imperceptibly, by a stotinki every 3-4 days. At the end of the month the price of bread will jump even more. At least by 10 stotinki and that will not be the end, because in case of a possible increase in the price of electricity, the price of bread will increase even more.
We may not have money for clothes, shoes, for walks, for tours, for visiting entertainment venues and for an excursion abroad, but we must have money for food and at least for bread. This is exactly the commodity that each of us buys, as a result of which the state budget is filled. In order to somehow tie up this budget, in order to reach the cherished dream of the Euro-American elite in Bulgaria, namely to reach this 3% deficit, it was made so that the price of electricity now jumped and the price of bread increased.
As a result, Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone will be paid for by every Bulgarian citizen, everyone who buys bread is already paying for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, every pensioner is paying for Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, every sick person, every poor person in Bulgaria is paying.
48% of the population is either below or around the poverty line, each of these poor people is currently paying out of their own pocket so that we can fill the budget, have a 3% deficit, and enter the eurozone. This is a crime that was committed against the Bulgarian people. That is why we from “Vazrazhdane” We have said not once, but millions of times that Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone is a crime against Bulgarian national interests, it destroys Bulgarian incomes, the savings of the poorest people and in practice makes them even poorer.
Furthermore, our country's entry into the eurozone, in a situation in which the EU and the eurozone itself are entering their most terrible recession since the beginning of their existence, in general as an organization, a situation in which the world is changing, a situation in which the EU is even shaking, a situation in which we see that the policy of the EU's main partner is changing radically and radically, not in days, but in hours, a situation in which the future US president can literally fire prime ministers of entire countries and shake a government with just one or two statuses on one of the social networks. In such a situation, wanting to enter the eurozone is madness, it is national treason, it is a crime.
Therefore, we at “Vazrazhdane” call for the VAT, which was raised for bread, to be returned to the old limits, which was our proposal from 2021. Moreover, we insisted and continue to insist that VAT be abolished not only for bread, but also for all other goods from the small consumer basket. The most necessary foods for people, besides bread - meat, cheese, milk, yellow cheese, eggs, oil, salt, sugar.
Kostadinov also announced that “Vazrazhdane” will also work to reduce the price of electricity, and is about to submit a proposal to amend the Energy Law.
