Rumen Petkov: Our country must receive compensation from the EU for energy aid to Ukraine

The leader of ABV noted that serious talks are already underway in Europe to rethink some of the ridiculous decisions of the Green Deal. And in this sense, today we must protect our interest in energy, including nuclear, and from the point of view of coal-fired power plants. Our position must truly be unified and categorical - both politically and from the point of view of unions and employers.

Rumen Petkov: Our country must receive compensation from the EU for energy aid to Ukraine - 1

ABV Chairman Rumen Petkov is categorical that Bulgaria must receive compensation from the EU for the energy aid that our state provides to Ukraine. He stated to the media in Stara Zagora that this should be our unified state position in Brussels and expressed hope that it will be protected by the new government. If this happens, it will be a signal that we are accepted as an equal partner in the EU.

Petkov noted that serious talks are already underway in Europe to rethink some of the ridiculous decisions of the Green Deal. And in this sense, today we must protect our interest in energy, including nuclear, and from the point of view of coal-fired power plants. Our position must truly be unified and categorical – both politically and from the point of view of the unions and employers.

Rumen Petkov also noted the recent meetings of the BSP-UNITED LEFT with the employers' and trade union organizations, emphasizing that the left-wing coalition is the only parliamentary formation with such an initiative.

At the meetings, the BSP-UNITED LEFT insisted that our representatives in the relevant European structures join their efforts in a unified statesman's position in Brussels, institutional and political, especially on strategic issues, such as energy.

„Let's seek compensation through EU instruments. The Western European ring has nothing to do with the problems that we solve - we guarantee the energy security of Ukraine, this leads to a sharp increase in electricity prices in our country, from there - the blow is to the household and the economy, severe damage to both households and businesses," said the leader of ABC.
